An invitation to join:

Book Arts Santa Cruz is organization for everyone interested in the book arts.

In the early 1980s a group of Santa Cruz letterpress printers actively involved in making fine press books formed the Printers' Chappel of Santa Cruz. Today, because the world of the book has changed, and there are so many people interested in the book arts who are not letterpress printers, members of the SCPC have decided to create a new organization, Book Arts Santa Cruz. We welcome and want to include printers, printmakers, graphic designers, marblers, calligraphers, scrap bookers, binders, papermakers, book collectors, artists… in other words, everyone interested in the book arts, novices and professionals alike.

If you want to be part of BASC, send an email to Matt at bookartssantacruz@gmail.com, or call Peter at 475-1455

The next meeting will be on Monday, June 25th, 2012 from 5-8 PM

Jody Alexander will be hosting our next Book Arts Santa Cruz meeting at her Wishi Washi Studio in the Tannery in Santa Cruz. http://www.wishiwashistudio.com/

The meeting will be on Monday, June 25th, 2012 from 5-8 PM. If you need further directions, please email Jody in advance at wishiwashistudio@gmail.com. Any and all interested in the book arts are invited to come socialize. Jody plans to have class samples she has made over the years as well as artist's books she has made utilizing historical binding structures. Attendees are encouraged to bring books they have made using historical structures for a show and tell. Please also bring the usual, light food and drinks, to be set up on a table in the hallway outside the studio, so as not to mix food and books.

Special thanks to Wax Works West for hosting the last meeting. We all had great fun learning how to make encaustic paper artworks.
